Community for seniors
Monday Bible Study
What better way to start the week than in communion with Christ and each other?
The Monday Bible study has not always been on Monday in the history of the CE Association, but this is the Bible study community that has been operating continuously since the oldest times, since the 1940s.
The members of this community were the professing pastors and Christians who were dragged into concept trials in the 50s and sentenced to long prison terms. During communism, the brothers gathered in private houses, secretly, but with all the more blessings, to listen to the Word and strengthen themselves in prayer.
Today, this Bible class is held every Monday afternoon, and the older brothers gather on these occasions. Their community, prayers, and spiritual presence connect us to our religious predecessors in the life of the CE Association.
Elizabeth club
In the 90s, when the world turned upside down in Romania as well, the change very quickly pushed the elderly to the edge of society.
The Scriptures especially recommend the elderly and widows to the attention of God’s children. The Elisabeth club was created for them, where nearly a hundred elderly widows or widowers meet every Thursday morning.
Most of the time, retired pastors preach the Word on these occasions, where a lot of singing, conversation, and shared tea and coffee await the retired.
And why Elizabeth club? She was the wife of the priest Zacharias, the mother of John the Baptist, and a relative of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The gospel, the story of the glad tidings, begins with Elizabeth.
